Self-exclusion and account blocks
Self-exclusion is the only tool in this industry designed to work against the user’s own future impulses. Everything else on a gambling platform is built to make the next round easier; this one is built to make it impossible, including for the version of you that changes its mind at midnight. Because it is genuinely binding, it is worth understanding before it is needed.
Three levels, not one
| Level | Where it is activated | Coverage |
|---|---|---|
| Limits and reminders | Account settings on the platform | Deposit amount, losses, session length — play continues inside a frame |
| Cooling-off period | Account settings or a support request | Full block on access for a set period, typically days to weeks |
| National register | With the regulator, outside the platform | Blocks participation across licensed operators in the Greek market |
The distinction has a practical edge. A block at one brand does not prevent a registration at another the same evening, which is why an account-level measure suits a temporary reset while a market-wide one suits a real decision.
The national register
Greece maintains an official self-exclusion register — the Μητρώο Αυτοαποκλεισμένων — held by the supervisory authority, the ΕΕΕΠ. The individual applies personally through the procedure the authority publishes. Once the entry is in force, licensed operators must refuse participation and must stop sending promotional material to that person. Removal from the register is neither instant nor at an operator’s discretion, and that delay is the protective mechanism rather than an inconvenience in the process.
Money, bonuses and the contract
This is where self-exclusion meets the main theme of the site. A bonus is a conditional agreement that assumes active play, so when participation stops, outstanding wagering requirements and the bonus amount itself are generally cancelled. Real balance is different: it is not forfeited and is returned through the normal withdrawal route once identity verification is complete. Because account access becomes restricted afterwards, capture your balance and transaction history before you confirm — the same discipline that a dispute would require.
Before you confirm
- Request withdrawal of available real balance, or ask in writing how it will be returned.
- Save a copy of the balance, the transaction history and any open support case reference.
- Choose the duration against your worst day rather than your calmest one.
- Remove the app, delete stored payment methods and clear saved logins, so the easy path back does not exist.
- Tell one person. An exclusion nobody knows about is easier to work around.
The substitutes that undo the point
After an exclusion, search results fill with “alternative addresses” promising access without checks. That is the exact opposite of protection: such sites sit outside supervision, recognise no register, and frequently exist to harvest credentials. The page on alternative addresses explains how to tell a genuine domain from a copy. If the impulse to find one appears, that impulse is information — and the appropriate response is the ΚΕΘΕΑ services described on the responsible gambling page, not another domain.
